PURPOSE OF THE MEASURE

The main purpose of the measure is to improve safety and living conditions of fishermen, to improve competitiveness, to ensure sustainable use of fishery resources in the Adriatic Sea and to prevent the decrease in the number ob jobs in this branch.

The measure consists of the main sub-measure "Modernisation of existing vessels" and the supplementary sub-measure "Small scale coastal fishing".

The subject of support within the measure 3.6. Modernisation of existing vessels and small scale coastal fishing areas follows:

• Investments into equipment modernisation on the existing vessels, particularly into more selective fishing techniques;
• Investments into improvement of working conditions of fishermen on existing vessels.

Within this measure the funds are intended for the following investments into existing vessels: hygiene, working conditions, safety of navigation and safety at work, storage, grappling and wounding, equipment for searching for fish and devices for the manipulation of grappling and wounding.

BENEFICIARIES

Final recipients are legal persons with their domicile in the Republic of Slovenia or entrepreneurs with their residence in the Republic of Slovenia. Final recipient needs to be registered for the activities of sea fishing and has to possess a valid fishing licence.

HOW TO OBTAIN PAYMENTS

Co-financing is provided on the basis of an application and fulfilment of the conditions in the invitation to tender.
