PURPOSE AND MEASURES

The goals of Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG) are to achieve sustainable balance between fishery resources and their utilisation, to strengthen competitiveness of economic operators in fishery branch and to improve the effectiveness of marketing mix. With the measures and investments supported by the Fund we wish to contribute to effective adaptation of fisheries and aquaculture to limited fishery resources and changing demands of the market.

Within the 3^rd priority task of the Single Programming Document RS 2004-2006 two measures are being implemented, i.e.:

• Modernisation of vessels and small scale costal fishing
• Aquaculture, processing and marketing
