PURPOSE

 

The purpose of the implementation of the market information system for sheep market is to establish the market price and import price in the representative market. The market price serves as a basis for the implementation of market policy in the field of sheep production. The collected data are forwarded to the competent ministry and EU bodies.

 

LEGAL BASES

 

The basis for the implementation of the market information system for the sheep meat market is Slovenian as well as EU legislation that precisely define the rules of the implementation.

 

Legal basis - Slovenia:

  • Agriculture Act
  • Decree on determination of representative markets and market information system for sheepmeat market

Legal basis - EU:

  • Commission Regulation (EC) No 315/02 of 20 February 2002 on the survey of prices of fresh or chilled sheep carcases in the representative markets within the Community
