PURPOSE

 

The purpose of the implementation of the market information system for the pigmeat market is to establish the market price in the representative market. The market price serves as a basis for the implementation of market policy in the field of pig breeding. The collected data are forwarded to the line ministry and competent EU bodies.

 

LEGAL BASES

 

The basis for the implementation of the market information system for the pig market is Slovenian as well as EU legislation that precisely define the rules for the implementation.

 

Legal basis - Slovenia:

  • Agriculture Act
  • Decree on market information system for pigmeat market.

Legal basis - EU:

  • Commission Regulation (EC) No 1319/2006 of 5 September 2006 on the exchange between the Member States and the Commission of certain information concerning pigmeat (Codified version)

  • Commission Regulation (EC) No 1128/2006 of 24 July 2006 on the marketing stage to which the average price for pig carcasses refers (Codified version)

  • Regulation (EEC) No 2759/75 of the Council of 29 October 1975 on the common organization of the market in pigmeat
