PURPOSE

The purpose of the implementation of the market information system for the milk and milk products market is to establish the market price of milk products in the representative market. The market price serves as a basis for the measures of intervention buying-in of butter and storage support of individual milk products. The collected data are forwarded to the competent ministry and EU bodies.

LEGAL BASIS

The basis for the implementation of the market information system for milk and milk products is Slovenian as well as EU legislation that precisely defines the rules for the implementation.

• Decree on the regulation of milk and milk products market

Legal basis - EU:

• Commission Regulation (EC) No 562/2005 of 5 April 2005 laying down rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 1255/1999 as regards communications between the Member States and the Commission in the milk and milk products sector;
• Commission Regulation (EC) No 2771/1999 of 16 December 1999 laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EC) No 1255/1999 as regards intervention on the market in butter and cream
