PURPOSE

The purpose of the implementation of the market information system for the wheat and maize market is to establish the buying-in, purchase and import price on the representative market, and to establish the system of reporting to the European Commission. The obtained prices serve as the basis for the implementation of market policy in the field of the wheat and maize market.

Price monitoring on the representative wheat and maize market is performed weekly during the entire year (buying-in, purchase and import prices are monitored, together with wheat and maize quantities) and during harvest time (quantity, price and quality of delivered wheat are monitored).
