MEASURES AND PURPOSE
In 2007, the Republic of Slovenia launched the common agricultural policy reform in the field of direct payments. Slovenia adopted the CAP reform that covers:
- Crop specific payments (65% of special premium, 50% of premium and additional premium for sheep and goat, and 25% of direct payment for the utilised area under hops),
- Regional payment (fields and grassland),
- Historic supplements (milk, bovine meat and sugar beet),
- Additional payment for extensive farming of female animals.
By adopting this reform, the Republic of Slovenia is making a transition from the standard scheme of direct payments to the new system of direct payments, which is based on the regional payment with potential historic supplements, which in total constitutes payment entitlement.
