TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT
Milk quotas
EU implemented the milk quota system in 1984 as a measure intended for limiting milk production with the aim of reducing the imbalance between supply and demand in the milk and milk products market resulting from structural surpluses. In 2003, the EU common agricultural policy reform was adopted that provides retention of the milk quota system at least until 2015. According to the Treaty of Accession, Slovenia had to implement the milk quota system in the quota year 2005/2006.
