TASKS AND OPERATION

The Section carries out tasks in the following fields:

• Intervention and Specific Measures Department
• Foreign Trade Department
• Market Information System
• Information and promotion measures for agricultural products in the Republic of Slovenia, European union and third countries

The implementation of market organisation tasks relates to the allocation of quotas and support granted by Slovenia and EU. In 2005, the Section launched the integral management of milk quotas.

• Milk Quotas

The purpose of the measure Supply of food from intervention stocks is an additional aid for socially disadvantaged persons in Slovenia as food aid in the form of distribution of processed products from intervention stocks.

• Supply of food from intervention stock for the benefit of the most deprived persons in the Community

ORGANISATION

The operation of the Agricultural Markets Section is vital and divided into four departments:

• Foreign Trade Department
• Intervention and Specific Measures Department - animal part
• Intervention and Specific Measures Department - vegetal part
• Promotion and Market Information System Department
