RURAL DEVELOPMENT SECTION

The Rural Development Section implements measures from Rural Development Program 2014-2020 targeted at improving the competitiveness of the agricultural and forestry sector and contributing to the development of rural  areas. The Section also implements measures of the Operational Program for the implementation of the European Fund for Fisheries in the Maritime of RS for the period 2014-2020 targeting the sustainable development of fisheries, aquaculture, processing and marketing of fish and aquaculture products.

 

Section implements following measures:

European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)
Measure 1 – Knowledge transfer and information actions
Measure 2 – Advisory services, farm management and farm relief services
Measure 3 – Quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs
Measure 4 - Investments in physical assets
Measure 6 – Farm and business development
Measure 7 – Basic services and village renewal in rural areas
Measure 8 – Investments in forest area development and improvement of the viability of forests
Measure 9 – Setting-up of producer groups and organisations
Measure 16 – Cooperation
Measure 19 – Support for LEADER local development (CLLD – community-led local development)

During former financial perspective 2007-2013 the Section was implementing measures of the Rural Development Plan 2007-2013 (RDP 2007-2013) and Operational programme for fisheries development in the Republic of Slovenia 2007-2013.

 

Between 2002 and 30 April 2004, the Section implemented the SAPARD programme. Following the EU accession, the Section has undertaken seven measures of the Single Programming Document RS 2004-2006 (SPD) in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

 

Main tasks:

- monitoring of and participation in the preparation of regulations,

- preparation and implementation of public invitations to tender,

- implementation of the procedures for the allocation of grants, dedicated EU funds and - funds from the national budget,

- handling of applications for funds,

- provision of information and explanation,

- preparation of reports and analyses.

 

 

The activities are carried out within three departments and one project unit:
